A 20-something can still be angsty, right?
Time Magazine released its 2009 Year in Pictures, as I clicked through I realized how full of sadness, war and pain the year has been around the world. The collection proves that at the end up the day, there are so many things much bigger than ourselves and the personal bubble we all live in. I would like to believe that next year will be better but I suppose I am too much of a pacifist to believe that one day everyone will realize that words are so much more important than weapons. Thus I fear we will have a very similar looking 2010 Year in pictures. That being said, I think this picture is stunning. He looks so in love.

What do you do if you’re an administrator at a university that wants to focus on providing a quality education while also paying careful attention to everyone’s interest in football? Maybe this:
The University of Alabama will resume its normal operations on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 as scheduled. However, given the number of students who have to be in Pasadena, Calif. to represent UA on Jan. 7 and the number of faculty, staff and students who want to be there, classes will be dismissed Jan. 6-8.But don’t forget the mission statement:
The University of Alabama, a student-centered research university, is experiencing significant growth in both enrollment and academic quality. This growth, which is positively impacting the campus and the state’s economy, is in keeping with UA’s vision to be the university of choice for the best and brightest students. UA, the state’s flagship university, is an academic community united in its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all Alabamians.Full press release here (HT: Brian Coburn).
